Hi lovely people!
Been quiet on my side lately. Got a lot of things going on, new projects I'm working on and I'm currently in Tenerife. I used to live here for those of you that didn't know, so I travel here quite often. As this place is still a home for me and it's just so beautiful!
Every time I say I used to live here people ask me why Tenerife? Of all the places in the world? I can see why people think its a bit shabby (British pubs, karaoke etc) and it has its parts, but this island is incredible really. The scenery, the blue blue ocean and the sky, the food and wine, the people and just the fact you can travel here any time of the year and you will nearly be guaranteed nice weather.
When I'm here I try to get out and about as much as I can. And you can probably see why.
So let's talk about the benefits of walking.
Walking is a great way to get about on holiday and its something most of us can do without any issues. But taking a long walk now a few times per week can do wonders for your health and here's why:
Walking burns fat. But it normally takes 25 minutes of walking before fat burning is turned . on so it's recommended to walk longer than 25 minutes if you want to burn fat.
Walking is a great stress reliever. As it's an aerobic exercise that will increase the amount of oxygen that you will breathe in.
Walk depletes space, so when you walk you will have more space. When we are stressed we tend to bottle it all up within ourselves and we are usually inside. When you walk you will feel calmer as the stress has space to "get out of you".
Walking releases endorphins and improves your mood.
It's free to walk - just need some good shoes!
Walking 30-60 minutes a day is recommended to maintain a healthy weight.
Walking stop loss of bone mass.
Walking improves circulation.
Walking slows down mental decline & lowers Alzheimer's and dementia risk
Walking can aid in digestion. Walking after a meal clears glucose from the bloodstream to lower blood sugar, and helps move food through your system quicker.
